News from Nick in Malaysia (AU) - Mayhem and Fun (LwD)

Nickelodeon Australia -- The Star Online eCentral News -- News Reported on Friday April 13, 2007 By SHEELA CHANDRAN:

Find out what happens when two single parents tie the knot in Life with Derek.

What happens when you have two self-obsessed teenagers living under the same roof? Well, mayhem and lots of fun, of course. That’s what viewers can expect on Life with Derek, Nickelodeon’s latest comedy series about the antics of two 15-year-old stepsiblings Casey (Ashley Leggat) and Derek (Michael Seater).

The story revolves around two single parents – Nora MacDonald (Joy Tanner) and George Venturi (John Ralston) – who tied the knot, thus bringing together two families. However, they never expected that their two elder children would cause havoc in the household.

The series, created by Daphne Ballon, co-stars Jordan Todosey (as Lizzie MacDonald), Daniel Magder (Edwin Venturi) and Ariel Waller (Marti Venturi).

Catch Life with Derek on Nickelodeon Australia (Astro Channel 60) on weekdays at 8pm. It is shown on Disney at 6:00 PM Friday nights in America, on Family Channel at 6:30 PM on Friday nights in Canada, on VRAK.TV in Germany, Italy, Israel, France and Mexico, and on Toonami in England.

Note: Errors are made in this news report, such as them saying the actor who plays Edwin is named Edwin Madger instead of Daniel Madger. They also list Michael Seater's previous projects, The Zack Files and Strange Days at Blake Holsey High, as comedy instead of Sci-Fi.

Yes. I know it comes on Disney *in America* but it airs on Nickelodeon in Australia and on Toonami in England. It's not a Disney show though either. It's a Canadian show broadcast by The Family Channel and syndicated to Disney, Nickelodeon, Toonami, and at least one to two other channels in the world. It's inappropriate for kids most of the time because it's meant to be for teens and/or family viewing (although I'm still iffy about the family viewing, I still have yet to meet a family that watches it together just a bunch of teenagers and young adults like myself who watch it alone or with friends) - not kids under the age of 12 watching it by themselves. It happens to be one of my most favorite shows right now. In fact you can go as far as to say that I am obsessed with it...along with Hey Arnold! (I'm still a huge fan after all these years), Martin Mystery, The Land Before Time, Jimmy Neutron (not as much as I once was), As the World Turns, Guiding Light, and Drake & Josh.
